I am a mother to a darling little boy, and wife to an amazing husband.
In 2009, during the depths of the Great Recession, I lost my job as a national sales rep for a green building supply company. At the time, my husband had recently left a job, and was starting his business – needless to say, money was tight.
In an effort to get the most for our money, I discovered couponing. I absolutely could not believe the savings that I could achieve by planning ahead and by using resources available on the internet.
I became obsessed.
All I wanted to talk about were coupons, and the amazing deals that I had found. Our closets were overflowing with my “loot” that we had won by combining coupons with sales, and so forth. My husband would comment upon seeing piles of any particular day’s takings that I had effectively “renegaded” a particular store. My friends began to ask how it was done.
